Exploration
Corpus Christi Port Authority
The new Port Authority building is to serve as a city landmark using sustainable design principles to represent the future of Corpus Christi. With this in mind, the history of discovery and exploration associated with the city guided the design concept. The building form was inspired by the sails of the ships that were led by Spanish Explorer Alonso Alvarez de Pineda to discover the bay.
The Cloud
Reflecting on the evolution of access to information in the 21st century, the Cloud is an innovative library exploring how the digital can augment the physical work. The team took the inward focus of the traditional library program and pulled it outside, creating an interactive park for discovery and knowledge.
Chicago Modular
Pushing the multifamily residential ethos to be equipped for the future, this project incorporated the use of modular structure integrated with technology to create a home that adapts with the evolving population. The design concept combines sustainability and industrialization into one guiding principle: one cannot be attained without the other.
Tokyo Geode
A competition set at the crossroads of antiquity and the progressive cultures of Tokyo, the performance hall is an exhibition of both. The great hall juxtaposes itself against the restrain exterior skin and the interior facade just as the charm of the surrounding neighborhood pushes up against the adjacent Togo Shrine.
